Please remember if you are over 12 years old you need an Environment Agency rod licence.

A MINIMUM OF THREE (3) MATCHES HAVE TO BE FISHED THIS YEAR TO QUALIFY FOR A GOODIE BAG AT THE 2007 JUNIOR PRESENTATION EVENING

RULES FOR JUNIOR ANGLING MATCHES

MATCH RULES

The competition will be run in accordance with the rules outlined in "Conditions of Fishing" set out below.

The decision of the Senior Steward present, on the application of these rules, will be final

Conditions of Fishing

  1. The duration of the match will be 4hours (normally 9.00am to 1pm).

  2. A draw will be made for peg positions at (8.40am) before each match.

  3. A competitor shall use only 1 rod, 1 line and a single hook at any one time:- other rods may be assembled but must be lying beside or behind the competitor and must be un-baited.

  4. No competitor will have live or dead fish in their possession before the match.

  5. All fish in season are eligible for weighing. Scoring will be decided on the combined total catch by weight on an "all in" basis.

  6. No lead split-shot or lead weights under 1ounce are allowed (to conform to law and local bye laws).

  7. Before the starting signal, (9am) no competitor can disturb the water except to wet ground-bait and position keep-net.

  8. v  Competitors must strike, play and land their own fish (assistance may be given with landing a fish if asked for).

  9. Competitors must not leave their swim leaving baited tackle in the water.

  10. Competitors must retain all fish in keep-nets which comply with the relevant local and water authority bye-laws.

  11. Only barbless hooks are to be used.

  12. Any breaking of the above rules could lead to disqualification from the match.
