KINGFISHER COURSE 2003

The Clapham Angling Preservation Society and the National Federation of Anglers have held a successful N.F.A. Kingfisher (certificate) course for junior and first time anglers.

The course was run by our own 3 fully licensed 1st4Sport\NFA coaches, Dave Milton, Dave Gray and Reg Garfoor who were assisted by  Tim Holdcroft. It  consisted of 5 sessions, 4 classroom based sessions of 3 hours, the first of which  was attended by Dr Alan Butterworth of the EA who gave a talk and slide show on the work the Environment Agency carry out. All sessions included such things as the following:- Fish and their behaviour, fishing locations, reels, lines, hooks and weights. Float fishing, knots, plumbing. The setting up of a waggler rod, baits and ground bait and many other disciplines. The fifth and final session was an on the bank session on Mount Pond, Clapham Common on the 21st June 2003 where all of the classroom theory was put into practice, by those that had taken part.
