PARTICLE BAITS
PREPARATION GUIDE
Incorrectly prepared particle baits can kill fish. They must be
prepared according to the instructions for the particular variety. And purchase
only from reputable stockists.
Tiger nuts:- all peanut kernels:- whole and
broken brazil:- hazel:- cashew and pistachio nuts.
Soak for a minimum of 24 hours, then pressure
cook for 20 minutes or boil for 30 minutes. Hazel nuts will need to be weighted
down while being soaked and boiled to clear air pockets within the nuts.

Tares:- sweet lupins:- black-eyed beans:- tic beans:- adzuki
beans:- maples:- dun pea:- chick peas:- Soya beans and haricot beans.
Soak for a minimum of 12 hours, then pressure-cook for 20 minutes
or boil for 30 minutes.

Hemp:- red & white dari:- buckwheat:- groats:-
red & black rape:- paddy rice:- whole oats:- wheat:- barley:- linseed:-
flaked maize and all millets.
Soak for a minimum of 12 hours then scald, i.e.
bring to the boil and immediately remove from heat and allow to cool in the pan.

Moth beans:- partiblend:- mung beans.
No pre-soaking is necessary, scald only. For best results, leave
in the water for at least 24 hours, stirring occasionally.

French maize:- red kidney beans:- pinto
beans and lima beans.
Must be soaked for at least 24 hours, preferably longer. Pressure
cook for 20minutes or boil for 30rninutes.

Striped sunflower:- safflower:- crushed
hemp:- maize flour and trout pellets.
No preparation is necessary.

Although there are many other ways of presenting particle baits
like, sprouting:- fermenting:- colouring and flavouring, provided the above
guidelines are met, the baits listed will be totally harmless to all fish and
can be used knowing that they are completely safe.
PLEASE NOTE:-
When soaking!! particles absorb water quickly so check and top up with water
after two hours and again after four hours if necessary. Always allow plenty of
water to cover the particles, and where boiling is specified this must be done
to ensure the safe preparation of bait. IF IN ANY DOUBT,
PLAY SAFE. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO OVER SOAK.
